01 — MASTER
Six editions, then Montevideo
By the time the Master reached Montevideo in 2025, Antonio had already taken part in five earlier editions. His role had changed over time, while the pedagogical center remained primarily Giovanna Benatti’s and belonged to a history much larger than one event.
Montevideo asked something different of him. The preparation became unusually concentrated around the experience of the days themselves: silence, journals, work in pairs and small groups, morning practices, spaces for questions, transitions, timing. The programme was not only a schedule. It was an attempt to make five days feel continuous.
Once the course began, that design became practical work. Antonio followed messages, recordings, materials, music, screens and timing, moving between what had been planned and what the group actually needed.
A walking meditation makes the scale visible in miniature. Antonio found the music, worked with Ganga on the edit, used Audacity, recorded Giovanna’s voice and assembled the pieces into one audio object. It existed for a very specific reason: at a particular moment, forty-nine people needed to enter the same practice together.
After Montevideo, the experience began travelling into other forms. Governance guidelines, international protocols and country dossiers carried lessons from the edition into future work. In parallel, years of audiovisual material were being transformed into a corpus that could be searched, compared and revisited.
That created another problem. AI could reorganise a large pedagogical archive quickly, but speed made it easy to clean away repetitions, nuances or explanations that only looked redundant from outside. Antonio kept returning to a simple constraint: make the material clearer without silently making it poorer.
The Master belongs here because it shows a long relationship changing scale. Familiarity became responsibility; lived experience became something that could be revisited and transmitted; and the work remained attached to a pedagogical history Antonio did not claim as his own.
The evidence can show what was built, how the edition was lived and what continued afterward. It does not need to turn intensity or participant response into a claim of certified educational effectiveness.
